Activities for the Family to Enjoy

How many families have a mother and a father that works on the week days and some of the weekends. That can make theri kids feel lonely in their early years, but once in school they do not seem to notice it much as their are absent in their house as their parents.
Saying this, we see we approach a situation were only weekends are available for most family interactions/activities. Saturday and Sunday, and on Sunday kids have to prepare their homework for school and parents have to get their work done. So the time spend in family is limited. (of course exeptions exists, such as: having a parent not working, long weekends, vacations, etc).
to make the most of your family, here are some activities you can all enjoy:

1) Movie Night
Here you can all gather around a TV and watch movies of your choosing. It is importatnt to remember that the person who chooses the movie have to change from time to time, so each member has the oportunity to choose. This could be done, for exaple, all Saturday nights. You may have pop corn, french fries, soda, etc.

2)Cook Together
Lets have a special dinner, or lunch or breakfast made by the hole family. It will teach the children how to cook, and the family will have a special time making their food. But parents have to be cautions of their children, as there is the risk of the child choping his finger off with the knife. That is why we recomend that children should have easy jobs in the kitchen such as: rinsing the salad, or passing the ingredients to their parents.

3) Go for a Picnic
Let the family eat outside, surrounded by fresh air and some green views. Enjoy the outdoor activities you could play like: freesbee, or football, or skipping the robe, and more. It doesn't have to be in a park, if having a large patio you can always have a picnic there. But it would be more interesting to get in another environment.
You could be lying on the floor or on brnches, it is absolutely optional!

4) Go to a theme park
Enjoy the rush of the rollacoasters together! Though if your children are too small we wouldn't recommend you to bring them.
Play many games with your children such as: shooting ducks, and catching fish and win enourmous stuffed animals.
Go into various adrenalinic games. They seem to be safe. If a 78 year old man can still get on rollacoasters and get off alive, then you and your kids should too, though the 1st experience might be terrifying for the kid, or for the parent.

Unusual free-time activities

By unusual activities we are refering to those activities that are not commonly known by us, or that we find too odd and weird. Those activities people do that are strange to our eyes and could produce a feeling of uneasiness in us. But once you lay aside that strange feeling, then unknown and starnge starts evolving into peculiar and interesting and new.

As we have seen, hobbies and leisures form part of what we call free-time. That beautiful and magestic moment in the day were you actually can choose what to do.
That tough moment were you have to choose what to do in this precious, brief time you own.
Should i do this, our should i better stay at home and watch TV? Should i go out and breathe  clean, pure, fresh air, or stay inside with my computer?i can always open my window.
Most of you might decide between the "usual" activities, already mentioned and do nothing (staying home), but please let me introduce you to a set of peculiar activities/hobbies you could at some point try:

1)EATING BRICKS
If  you want to be strong and tough, eat a brick! No one will underestimate your power. This also helps if you want to have a stronger jaw, it can come in handy if you are eating a hard piece of meat. Just look at this granny, you do not want to get into trouble with her.

e

Materials you may need: 1) a brick 2) some courage 3) dentist or doctor ensurance
Posibles outcomes: 1) broken teeth  2)stronger jaw  3)broken jaw

2)PARKOUR AND FREE RUNNING
Parkour, as seen in the video, is a gimnastic-like. It is not strikted to urban places, it can also be done in rural locations. As the video shows, it consist in a phisical work, using every muscle in your body you can jump from various heights and climb walls, etc.
Its most likely origin would be in the 1930's. First viwed by the French as military excersice process to maintain their soldiers in shape. This exercise consisted in the practise of 10 physical areas: climbing, running, walking, jumping, swimming, quadrupedal movements, balancing, throwing, lifting and self-defense.
   It's popularity started in 1990's 2000.
Equipment: light clothes, comfortable running/sports shoes, and luck.

3)Geocaching

Is a real life treasure hunting using GPS or other electronic device that can be use to track a location. The "player" or participant is given a set of coordinates and he/she must go to that location to find the object hidden somewhere in that location. The idea is to go find an object (will be at a container), and once found it replace it with an object of your choice, so then other people can go to the location to find the "treasure". it can be any object.

4)Planking
It consist in you lying down horizontally, in the ground or in an unsusal place, preferibly in a public location and then take a picture of you doing it and posting it in the internet.

5)Taphopihilia
Is a particular interests in cementeries. So the hobbie will mainly consist in going to cementeries and read the gravestines, take walks admiring the environmente, and the such.

6)Cryptozoology
It is the study and the "hunting" of creatures that their existence is dubious. Creatures that have not yet poven that they exist. An exaple would be: The seeking of Big Foot (USA) or the Loch Ness Monster (UK).

7)The Furry Fetiche
Is about people liking to dress up in this animal costumes that are furry and comfortable, just beacuse of fun.

8)Playing Dead
It basically consisits in pretending to be dead and taking pictures of you to post them online.
An exaple of this activity is Chuck Lamb, 47. He has a wife and six kids. His dream was to be an actor, to appear in TV.

9)Paint your Dog
How many of you have dogs? And how many of you have those signs saying "Watch out with the dog"? One may think those signs are too common, so what if you could actually have a sign saying "watch out with the tiger!". It is an increasing hobby in China, the dogs owners dye their dogs hair so they can appear to be another animal. It is not necessary for it to be a realistic animal.       It may work with robbers at night time. They will enter the house thinking is all a joke, and then bang! the tiger appears.

10)Knitting Breasts
The unsual hobby of Mrs. Audrey Horncastle, age 84, from Woodingdean, near Brighton is to make woolen knitted breasts. She makes this specially for her daughters enfermary class, that is teaching mother how to breast feed.
So if you girls are wanting more because you dont have, this two ladies are ready to collaborate with you and fulfill your request.

11)Ways ti Iron
Ironing your clothes might be boring, especially if you have to do it. So the solution to this proble is to find ways to make it intersting. Of course you can use the "traditional" solution such as: turning on the TV, hear music, etc. But you can always push it to another level and make it EXTREME. Follow this example:

Because ironing your clothes at home is too mainstream.

12)Mooing
As the title says, is about imitating the sound that cows make, the MOO.
There also exists a competition of mooing contest in Winsconsin State Fair, were the price for first place is about $1000. It is to be known that once a 10 year old boy won this contests among 80 or so participants of various ages.

While I was surfing the internet, I found that people from 75 and over use their free time mostly to watch tv, read and relax.
If this is your case, I will give you some other activities that you can do as a hobbie, because you still have a lot of time to travel and learn new things, and enjoy your free time, so why waste that time watching tv if you can do all those by yourself?

Are the Chilean lazy people?

What do you think if I tell you that a recently study, about what the Chilean people prefer to do in their free time, showed that we are so lazy. The 68% of Chilean prefer, like a first option, watching TV and listen to music instead of doing any sport. To be with their friends, surfing on internet and going to the shopping are the second activity most doing for the Chilean people. While that to read a book and doing a sport are the less activity that the Chilean people prefer to do. The 70% of Chilean people confessed that they don’t do any kind of sport and a 52% said that they will never read a book in their free time.

The survey conducted by the United Nations program showed that what we want to do in our free time is determined for many factors like a tastes, community, culture and one of the most important that affect a Chilean person is the socioeconomic aspect. So the people with most high-income are the most spend money on to do some activity in their free time. While the people that have low-income prefer to do activities that do not imply spend money.

do you agree with these results?  is this our reality?
